Trainer Andrew Noblet has revealed that classy filly Silent Sedition will have to spend a little more time than anticipated in the paddock ahead of her Spring Carnival campaign, after suffering a muscle strain in her back.

Silent Sedition has fast ingrained herself as the rising stable star for the Caulfield-based Noblett; posting three wins and a further four minors through a total of nine competitive starts, since debuting to racing during last year’s Spring Carnival.
Having underlined a race like the Group 1 Myer Classic (1600m) in the late stages of October as the likely target for the daughter of War Chant in spring, Noblet told AAP that every precaution will be taken with the filly in the lead-up to her return.
“She’ll just want an extra two or three weeks just to let it settle down, but it probably doesn’t affect her too much,” Noblet said.
“Probably her goal is going to be the Myer Classic or something like that, and that’s not until later on.
“We’ll just get her right first. When we get her back in we’ll see how she is and go from there.”
Silent Sedition made a commendable debut to racing when appearing for third amongst talented company in the Skilled @ Darley Maiden Plate (1109m) on September 2015, and continued to impress with a strong run for second in the Grand Hotel Frankston BM78 (1200m) less than two weeks later.
Continuing to third in the Yellowglen Plate (1400m) on October 17th, Silent Sedition made a commendable transition to black type company when fourth in the Group 2 Fillies Classic (1600m) on October 24th and was immediately returned to the paddock, with a view towards autumn.
The filly out of Fiorentina stamped herself as one to watch this year when returning for a maiden race win in the Victoria Statewide Conveyancing Plate (1200m) on March 4th, before repeating the dose in the Listed Bendigo Guineas (1400m) on March 19th.
Running second behind Bengal Cat in the Ladbrokes Cash In Handicap (1600m) on April 9th, Silent Sedition returned to winning form in the Group 3 Auraria Stakes (1800m) at Morphettville before ending her campaign a close second to Abbey Marie in the Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) on May 7th.
