Winning form is good form and Spirits Dance continued her winning streak in the Group 2 $220,000 Polytrack Angus Armanasco Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield today.

The Peter Moody trained Spirits Dance ($5.5) made it four wins from her last four starts and scored her second win over favourite Marianne ($2) after beating that filly a head in the Group 3 $135,000 Kevin Hayes Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 8.
Moody said that the Statue Of Liberty filly had always shown plenty of ability and has put it all together this campaign.
“She’s done a terrific job. She’s had a pretty long prep, she has carried a few little niggles and very deserved,” Moody said.
“She has always shown us very good ability, but it just took her a little while to put it together. She got beat at Seymour one day and I thought how the hell is this happening.”
“But just a bit of maturity and a freshen up and she’s come back and hasn’t looked back.”
Moody was quick to praise young jockey Chad Schofield who had Spirits Dance racing on the pace and skipped the filly away in the straight to score by one and a quarter lengths from Marianne with Metaphorical ($19) a further one and a quarter lengths away in third spot.
“He is a great young talent. Nineteen year olds don’t win Cox Plates, I don’t care what they are riding. He showed nous there, he put her into the race and he’s a good lad, I’m sure there are plenty more ahead of him,” Moody said of Schofield.
