Gollan has only taken over the training of Someday this preparation after the six year old was formerly trained by Kelso Wood, and he has performed creditably at his two runs for his new stable.

Someday came from well back in the field for a first up fourth to Time To Plunder in the Listed $100,000 Brisclean Keith Noud Handicap (1200m) at Doomben on November 22 then settled midfield before finishing strongly for a second to Big Money in the Group 3 $200,000 Channel Seven George Moore Stakes (1200m) at Doomben on December 6.

Gollan said that the Falvelon gelding is now ready to tackle the 1350m and is also looking  forward to the Listed $175,000 Bernborough Handicap over 1625m at Toowoomba on December 31.

“He’s been trained for this race and possibly the Bernborough,” Gollan told the Sportsman.

“It was always a bit of a query last start whether the 1200m would be a bit sharp for him.”

Someday has drawn barrier nine in the twelve horse field and Gollan will instruct Tegan Harrison to try to work forward from the awkward gate to take a position in the first half of the field.

“He’s drawn a bit awkwardly so we just have to try and get a spot in the first half of the field.”

Someday is the winner of seven races while under the care of Wood but hasn’t visited the winner’s stall since taking out the Listed $80,000 Pages Event Equipment Brisbane Handicap (1600m) at Doomben twelve months ago.

Gollan will also saddle up the in-form Whiskey Allround who is sharing favouritism for the Lough Neagh Stakes at $3.60 with topweight and last start George Moore Stakes winner Big Money.

Someday is on the next line of betting with Ladbrokes.com.au at $7 just ahead of the Kelly Schweida trained Cape Kidnappers at $7.50.
