Solicit failed to fire last start in the Group 3 Aspiration Quality (1600m) at Royal Randwick on March 7, but trainer Gerald Ryan is hopeful that the talented mare can bounce back to her best in the 2015 Darley Crown at Hawkesbury tomorrow.

Solicit made her debut for the Ryan stable with a credible fourth behind Danesiri in the Group 3 Guy Walter Stakes (1400m) at Warwick Farm on February 28, but she stopped extremely quickly after leading in the early stages of the Aspiration Quality and she was beaten by almost 50 lengths.
Ryan said that Solicit never had a chance of finishing off strongly in the Aspiration Quality after she led at far too quick a tempo, but the veteran trainer told Racing Ahead that the four-year-old had bounced back well from the tough run and is heading into the Darley Crown in good condition.
“The other day at Randwick she couldn’t keep going because she ran her first half mile in 46.2, so she no hope of keeping going,” Ryan said.
“In saying that her two runs at Randwick have been identical – she has gone hard to the home turn and then she drops right out.
“She has come home, she trialed eight days later and trialed really well.
“She has bounced back and she seems to be going alright.
“If she found her right form she would be right in a race like this.”
Ryan has also included Peace Force in the 2015 Darley Crown field and the talented mare will be returning to the races for the first time since she finished a close second behind Mamwaazel in the Group 3 Belle Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) at Gosford on January 9.
The veteran trainer believes that Peace Force will face the toughest test of her racing career to date in the Darley Crown, but he believes that the five-year-old has improved from her time in the spelling paddock and can prove more than competitive in the Group 3 event this weekend.
“She hasn’t trialed, but she has had three jump-outs here at home,” Ryan said.
“The wet track is the question mark.
“She did run fifth first-up on a heavy track at Warwick Farm last time in and she has come back really well.
“She is working good, her two jump-outs have been good and she looks really well.”
Solicit is currently available at 2015 Darley Crown odds of $9, while Peace Force is priced at $13 to make a winning return to racing.
