So You Think – in Breeders’ Cup Classic

So You Think

Former Australian champion racehorse So You Think will run in the Breeders' Cup Classic

Irish trainer Aiden O’Brien will run So You Think in the $US5m, Group 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic (2000m) on dirt on November 5 at Louisville Kentucky.

The Classic, considered the main race of the Breeders’ Cup meet, comes after So You Think’s latest defeat in the Champion Stakes at Ascot on October 15 behind Cirrus Des Aigles.

O’Brien’s wife Annemarie confirmed the US engagement of the dual Cox Plate winner on Twitter.

So You Think, according to UK watchers hasn’t quite lived up to the hype after he arrived in Ireland at the start of the year.

A winner of 12 of 19 races, the former Bart Cummings-trained galloper has won four of seven starts overseas, three at Group 1 level.

Interestingly, Cummings believes So You Think is carrying less weight than when he had the son of High Chaparral racing in Australia.

However a win in the Breeders’ Cup Classic will go a long way to silencing the European knockers.

It will be So You Think’s first start on a dirt track.
