So You Think Destined For Irish Champion Stakes Start

So You Think's next race will be the Irish Champion Stakes

So You Think’s next assignment has been announced as the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on September 3.

While So You Think has a multitude of race possibilities, trainer Aiden O’Brien believes the Irish Champion Stakes will be most suited to the horse’s preparation.

Coolmore Australia racing manager Tom Magnier said there was still hope that So You Think would travel here to contest a third Cox Plate in October.

“There are plenty of options for him,” Magnier said.

“His next run is going to be in the Irish Champion Stakes.

“He can run in that and then go into quarantine if he was to come here but there are a couple of other races that the trainer could run him in as well.”

While So You Think’s appearance in Australia is uncertain, O’Brien is likely to bring over stayer Cape Blanco, who won the recent Man o’War Stakes.

“He (Cape Blanco) is the horse that the trainer thinks is suitable for the race,” Magnier said.

“There are still a few issues we need to get organised before any horse would be coming.

“I will be talking to Aidan in the next couple of days, but we are keeping our options open with both horses.”

So You Think has won three of his four races since arriving in Europe late last year.
