Speedy mare Snitzerland is to ready to explode when she launches her Autumn Carnival campaign after a sizzling six lengths win in a Rosehill barrier trial this morning.

Snitzerland flew over the 900m in 52.3 seconds and trainer Gerald Ryan will decide today if the Snitzel mare will resume in the Group 1 $500,000 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) at Flemington on February 15 or the Group 1 $400,000 Sportingbet Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield the following week.
“She is going really well,” Ryan told Racing Network.
On the way that Snitzerland won the high class trial, which included Group 1 winner Red Tracer, she will get her chance to win at Group 1 level this campaign after recording two seconds at the elite level so far in her career.
Snitzerland was among the top rated two year olds in her juvenvile season and finished second to Pierro in the 2012 Group 1 $3.5m AAMI Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill.
And in the Autumn last year the mare was runner up to Bel Sprinter in the Group 1 $350,000 Canterbury BMW Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill.
When Snitzerland resumes she will be having her first run since finishing second to Lankan Rupee in the Listed $150,000 Dilmah Earl Grey Stakes (1000m) at Flemington on November 7.
The four year old mare has an excellent first up record with three wins and a second from five attempts and includes a win in the Group 3 $125,000 San Domenico Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill in August 2012 and a win in the Group 2 $175,000 Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Warwick Farm in March 2013.
If Snitzerland performs up to expectations early in her Autumn Carnival campaign Ryan could be tempted to run her in the Group 1 $1m Lexus Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington on March 8.
Snitzerland has good record down the Flemington straight with two wins over the Newmarket Handicap course, the Group 3 $125,000 TBV Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes in the Autumn of 2012 and the Group 2 $220,000 Danehill Stakes in the following Spring Carnival.
