As well as Worthy Cause, Iggi Pop, Nissile, Kurrajong Dragon, Tequila Slammer and Meru being late nominations, trainer Chris Waller has already withdrawn Beyond Thankful who will race at Rosehill on Saturday.

The withdrawal of Beyond Thankful has left Dance Of Heroes as Waller’s only Ipswich Cup runner.

Igg1 Pop and Worthy Cause both went around at Eagle Farm last Saturday and will have to please their trainers if they are going to back up this week.

The John Zielke trained Worthy Cause finished a gallant fifth to Hopfgarten in the Listed $100,000 RadioTAB The Wayne Wilson Plate (1600m) while Iggi Pop from the Peter Robl stable raced on the pace before fading to finish ninth to Benzini in the Group 2 $300,000 Evergreen Turf Brisbane Cup (2400m).

New South Wales trained seven year old Nissile has been placed at his last two starts with a third in a BenchMark 70 Handicap on the Beaumont track at Newcastle on May 26 followed by a second on a heavy track in the Murwillumbah Cup Preview (1905m) at Ballina on June 13.

Other late Ipswich Cup nominations Tequila Slammer and Kurrajong Dragon raced at Gatton on Sunday for a third and a fourth in a 2000m Handicap while Meru hasn’t raced since finishing fourteenth in a 2000m three year old Handicap at Caulfield on May 14.
