Six Australia Stakes Victims For Black Caviar

Black Caviar will only have to take care of six rivals in this Friday’s Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley with a few trainers getting cold feet on the day of acceptances.

There were a couple of great stories earlier in the week including the entry of the Ararat maiden winner but in the end it’s a fairly straight forward field that’s been released today.

Four of the six have rating above 100 with Hollowlea on 92 and perhaps the only real discrepancy Impulsive Dream at 72 for Darren Weir.

They are all dwarfed by the 130 from Black Caviar though and we expect her to show us that with ease come Friday night.

For those thinking of having a bet on the race expect a new record in terms of short priced odds.

At the moment Black Caviar is paying a mere $1.02 fixed price and $1.01 to finish in the top two.

You can hardly blame the bookies though and this is really just a race to sit back and enjoy.

The great mare drew barrier one in the race, something that could be a potential issue given she’s not the quickest form the stalls.

The other riders may try to box her in on the fence because as soon as she finds some space it’s simply going to be all over.

If you’re clutching at straws for a main rival take a look at Zedi Knight and stablemate Doubtful Jack which are arguably the best of the rest.
