Stradbroke Handicap winner Sincero has been denied the chance to win back to back Group 1 $350,000 Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield this Saturday after succumbing to a hoof injury.

Trainer Stephen Farley had to cancel the Melbourne trip after Sincero developed a hind foot abscess and will now kick off his Spring Carnival in the Group 3 $125,000 Tramway Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday week.

“It’s nothing serious but it made the decision for me,” Farley told racenet.com.au.

“I was tossing up between the Memsie and the Tramway at Randwick seven days later so the abscess decided our fate.

“Everything happens for a reason.”

Farley is unperturbed about missing the Memsie Stakes and will now stay in Sydney for the Group 1 $350,000 George Main Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on September 21, the race Sincero won in 2011 as a four year old.

After finishing ninth at two attempts in the Group 1 $3m Sportingbet Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley in 2011 and 2012, Farley has decided to keep Sincero to distances around 1600m.

After running in the George Main Stakes, Sincero could then head to Melbourne with the Group 1 $1m Emirates Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on the final day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival a likely target for the six year old.

And a trip to Perth hasn’t been ruled out for the running of the Group 1 $1m Railway Stakes (1600m) at Ascot on November 23.

“We can always go down to Melbourne after that,”Farley said.

“There’s plenty of options for him down there with races like the Emirates Stakes and we are even looking at the Railway Stakes over in Perth later this year.

“There’s a lot of water to flow under the bridge so we’ll just take things as they come.”

The Memsie Stakes will still be loaded with plenty of quality even with the scratching of Sincero who was one of eleven Group 1 winners nominated.

The Mark Kavanagh trainer Atlantic Jewel is due to make her long awaited return to the racetrack following a tendon injury and will be joined by stablemate, Australian Cup winner Super Cool.

Sydney’s Autumn Carnival star It’s A Dundeel will be making his Spring debut along with fellow Kiwis King Mufhasa and Silent Achiever.

Other Group 1 winners to nominate are Melbourne Cup winner Green Moon, Australian Guineas winner Ferlax, Emirates Stakes winner Happy Trails, Queensland Derby winner Hawkspur and former Perth galloper Luckygray.

It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard
to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal.
I must say you have done a fantastic job with this. Additionally, the blog loads very quick for me
    on Opera. Excellent Blog!

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the structure of
your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of
content so people could connect with it better. Youve
got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two pictures.

Maybe you could space it out better?
