Bryan Guy’s Shuffle The Cash has produced a dominate victory over his interstate rivals in the Group 3 Premier’s Cup at Doomben today.

The rising seven-year-old gelding won the race by almost two lengths ahead of Tinseltown, who finished second, and Little Stranger, who ran on well for third.

Second place-getter Tinseltown proved that he was well over the race fall that had kept him out of action since last month’s Sydney Cup fall and hit the line strongly.

Luke Nolen was the jockey who rode Shuffle The Cash to victory, making it three wins in a row in today’s Doomben 10,000 Day program for the jockey.

Nolen said that he had now ridden a winner from each eastern state.

“We got the whole eastern seaboard covered today,” Nolen said.

“One from Sydney, one from Melbourne and one from Brisbane.”

Nolen was happy with Shuffle The Cash’s efforts today and thinks he could be a genuine chance in the Group 2 Brisbane Cup on June 11.

“He travelled nicely for me and when I set him a line away he went,” Nolen said.

“I don’t think he’d be without a chance in that (Brisbane Cup).”

Trainer Bryan Guy also felt that the Brisbane Cup could be an option.

“I’ll have a sit down and talk to the owners now,” he said.

“(He) might go to the 2,400 metres (of the Brisbane Cup) after this today.”

Guy said the more likely possibility, however, would be the Ipswich Cup on June 18.

“We might have a look at the Ipswich cup now in (3 week’s) time,” Guy said.

The trainer told of Shuffle The Cash’s love of training at his stable, a quality that he believes attributed to today’s fitness.

“He finished off fantastic today,” Guy said.

“At home in his box he’ll see the horses on the walker and he’ll start squealing and carrying on and you know you’ve got him right them.”
