Short Ban For Young Jockey

Adam Hyeronimous is the latest jockey to be suspended in what has been a busy week for racing stewards.

The suspension comes after he caused interference in the final race at Kensington on Wednesday.

He was aboard Zarock which crossed the line in second position but only after Hyeronimous drifted wide in the closing stages making contact with Tim Clark’s Eager Beaver which had to check on the line.

Corey Brown rode the winner Outofafrika which had an outside run and did come in slightly making the situation worse but the movement was only small meaning he didn’t face the stewards.

The interference from Hyeronimous though was deemed to be in the moderate range of careless of riding which has attracted a penalty of seven race meetings.

Having said this stewards reduced the ban to three meets after taking into consideration his guilty plea, his inexperience and the fact he has no similar incident on his record in the last 24 months.

The suspension comes into effect after the completion of his rides this Saturday April 2nd and he will miss all mid-week events with the penalty to be served by the following weekend.
