Sebring Sun (barrier five) was unable to record a race win as a two-year-old and he was sent to the spelling paddock after he finished fifth in the Group 2 Skyline Stakes (1200m) at Warwick Farm on February 28, but he has returned to racing in outstanding form.

The Sebring colt flew home from the tail of the field to record his maiden race win at Canterbury on July 29 and he proved that win was no fluke when he scored an impressive victory in the Listed The Rosebud (1200m) at Royal Randwick on August 8.

The Rosebud is set to be the key form race for the Up And Coming Stakes and Voilier and Tatoosh are both set to back-up in the Group 3 event this weekend.

Voilier (barrier two) has only recorded one win from his five race starts, but he has been a consistent performer at Group level, while Tatoosh (barrier three) will need to go to another level to have any chance in the $125,000 event.

Godolphin have a very strong group of three-year-olds heading towards the 2015 Spring Racing Carnival and they have included both Shards and Inner Circle in the 2015 Up And Coming Stakes field.

Inner Circle (barrier six) will be having the second race start of his preparation after he finished third behind Let’s Make It Rain and Tatoosh in the McGrath Estate Agents Handicap (1250m) at Canterbury on July 25.

Shards (barrier one) made a slow start to his racing career, but he was able to claim a maiden race win in the Tab.Com.Au Handicap (1350m) at Rosehill Gardens on June 13 and he has been included in the nominations for both the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) and the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m).

Another three-year-old that will be taking winning form into the Up And Coming Stakes is Gabrielle Englebrecht-trained Cannyescent, who will be having just the second race start of his career.

Cannyescent (barrier seven) will face a much tougher challenge than he did at Goulburn on debut, but his debut victory was visually impressive and Englebrecht is hopeful that the last son of Canny Lad can prove competitive at this level.

The 2015 Up And Coming Stakes field is rounded out by Gerald Ryan-trained Land’s End (barrier eight) and Luke Price-trained Man Of Choice (barrier four).
