Schofield Spasms But Ok For Slipper

Glyn Schofield has moved to dispel rumours that he won’t be able to take part in the Golden Slipper this weekend after pulling out of his rides at Randwick today.

After his second ride today Schofield was ruled unfit to ride by the ATC doctor reportedly due to a ‘headache’.

“I had some acupuncture in my neck yesterday and the muscles are spasming,” Schofield said.

“I’m sure I’m going to be fine by Saturday.”

Schofield is booked to ride one of the outsiders in the Golden Slipper, Fast And Sexy.

The Chris Waller trained filly was one of the final acceptors for the race and had no luck wiht barriers, starting from gate 17 as a $60 chance.

Schofield will be doing everything in his power to get to Rosehill Gardens on Saturday with one of his biggest race days also including Hawk Island in The BMW, Iron Lace in the Storm Queen Stakes and Centennial Park for David Payne in the George Ryder Stakes.
