Glyn Schofield has struggled to gain as many top level rides as he probably deserves since moving from South Africa but that could all change with a good ride at Rosehill this Saturday.

Peter Moody has enlisted the services of Schofield on board one of his most talented horses, Anacheeva.

After a slow build up to this season’s preparation, Moody believes Anacheeva could be ready to return to his brilliant best in the Rosehill Guineas.

“I think we’ll see a different horse this week,” Moody said.

“He has really turned the corner since the Australian Guineas.

“His work has been super and I think it’s the best we’ve ever had him.”

Schofield will be under no shortage of pressure given the expectations Moody has for a result, as well as the fact he’s filling in for regular stable jockey Luke Nolen.

Nolen is unavailable due to commitments in Adelaide, most notably on board the unbeaten Lights Of Heaven.

For Schofield though it’s a great chance to impress one of Australia’s leading trainers and really push for a more permanent gig in top shelf races.

Not only will he have the chance to do it for Moody on Saturday, he is a big chance to do it against him on Sunday as well when he partners Hay List on his return from shoulder soreness.
