Don’t Doubt Mamma will be included in the nominations for both the Group 2 Sandown Guineas (1600m) and the Listed Twilight Glow Stakes (1400m) for three-year-old fillies, but McEvoy told AAP that he believes the last-start winner will be better suited by the conditions of the Sandown Guineas.

“I want to see her again at a mile because I believe she’ll run a mile,” McEvoy said.

“There’s the two races at Sandown – there’s the Twilight Glow where she’ll get the penalty or the Sandown Guineas where she gets in very well, so I’m a bit keen to go to the Guineas and take on the boys.

“She was really impressive on Tuesday and she’s come out of that race magnificently.”

Don’t Doubt Mamma started her 2015 Spring Racing Carnival campaign with a third place finish in the Guardian Insurance Handicap (1000m) at Morphettville Parks on August 22 and she ran good closing sectionals in the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on September 5 before she finished a flat sixth in the Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on October 4.

McEvoy opted to drop Don’t Doubt Mamma back to 1400 metres for the Listed Lexus Hybrid Plate (1400m) at Flemington on November 3 and she flew home in the final stages of the race to record an impressive win.

McEvoy was at a loss to explain why Don’t Doubt Mamma did not fire in the Edward Manifold Stakes, but he does not believe it was because she failed to run out a strong 1600 metres and he is hopeful that he will prove that in the Sandown Guineas this weekend.

“It was either the firm ground or it’s possible she didn’t run the mile, but when you see her explode like she did on Tuesday you’d be amazed if she wouldn’t run a mile,” McEvoy said.

“So I’d like to find out now and then we know for next year where to aim her.”

The 2015 Sandown Guineas nominations were released this afternoon and Don’t Doubt Mamma could take on the likes of Irada, Mahuta, Patch Adams and Marky Mark, while Antelucan, Cartier Rock, Mihalic and The Grey Flash were included in the 2015 Twilight Glow Stakes nominations.
