Saint Patricks Days showed his liking for the soft Eagle Farm track and put himself into contention for the major Brisbane Winter Carnival’s two year old races with a surprise win at big odds in the Listed $100,000 Dalrello Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm on April 29.

The colt by Excelebration could be joined in the Sires’ Produce by stablemates Ours To Keep and Champ Elect who have both been early two year old winners for Munce.

Since his win in the Dalrello Stakes, Saint Patricks Day has won a 1000m trial at Doomben on May 16 and another good showing in the Sires’ Produce will see the colt go into the Group 1 $600,000 BMW Australia J.J. Atkins (1600m) at Eagle Farm on June 10 as one of the top fancies.

“He won the trial and has come ahead in leaps and bounds since the Dalrello. One thing he has shown he can handle all types of surfaces and he can handle Eagle Farm,” Munce said.

Ours To Keep is going into the Sires’ Produce third up after finishing fourth to Saint Patricks Day in the Dalrello Stakes followed by a fourth to Tangled in the Group 2 $175,000 Moet Champagne Classic (1200m) at Doomben on May 13 and Munce is expecting him to be very competitive again.

“Ours to Keep has been very brave in his two runs back when nothing has gone right. Both times he has had to go up on the pace and he has been attacked both times,” Munce said.

“But he fought on well and the 1400 metres will give him a chance to settle.”

“Give me three good barriers on Saturday and we will give them something to beat.”

Munce’s third runner Champ Elect will strip fitter for one run back from a spell when ninth to Taking Aim in the Group 3 $125,000 Ken Russell Memorial Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on May 6.

Champ Elect won her first two starts over the Summer which included a victory in the Listed $100,000 Calaway Gal Stakes (1110m) at Doomben on December 17.
