Talented filly Sagaronne has arrived in Melbourne ahead of her return to racing in the 2015 Atlantic Jewel Stakes at Moonee Valley next Saturday.

Sagaronne stamped herself as a horse to watch when she scored a maiden race win at the Gold Coast on May 9 and she went on to take out the Listed The Phoenix (1350m) at Doomben on May 30 before she finished a close second behind Press Statement in the Group 1 JJ Atkins (1600m) at Doomben on June 6.
The Group 1 Crown Oaks (2400m) will be the major 2015 Spring Racing Carnival for Sagaronne, but trainer Toby Edmonds was keen to send her down to Melbourne early and he told Sky Racing HQ this morning that the Real Saga filly had taken no harm out her flight south.
“She flew down last night and got in at about 4am,” Edmonds said.
“She looks fine, she got off the plane and was tucking into her feed, so she is happy.
“It will do her the world of good and you find that travelling these horses does mature them pretty quick.”
Sagaronne is on a path towards the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield on October 10 and the Group 1 Crown Oaks (2400m) at Flemington on November 5, but she will kick-off over 1200 metres in the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes.
Edmonds admits that the Atlantic Jewel Stakes will be too short for Sagaronne, but he revealed that he had locked in leading Melbourne jockey Craig Williams to take the ride on his star filly.
“She runs in the Atlantic Jewel on Saturday week,” Edmonds said.
“It is obviously going to be a bit short, but we have to kick-off somewhere and we just decided to head that way.
“We will see how she does between here and there and she is pretty fit, but it would probably be a good idea to give her a look at the track anyway.
“Craig Williams will ride her at Moonee Valley and he is quite happy to be on her.
“He is very professional and he seems to have done his homework already.”
Sagaronne is currently available at 2015 Thousand Guineas odds of $1 with Ladbrokes, while Champagne Stakes winner Pasadena Girl ($7) remains a narrow favourite from Colin Little-trained Jalan Jalan ($8), Golden Slipper runner-up English ($10), the promising Alaskan Rose ($15), Phillip Stokes-trained Miss Gunpowder ($15) and Silver Shadow Stakes winner Speak Fondly ($15).
