Vain Queen will be making her black type racing debut in the 2014 All Victorian Sprint Series Final at Flemington tomorrow and trainer John Sadler could not be happier with the talented mare.

Vain Queen was found to have suffered from the thumps when she returned to racing with a fourth place finish in the Hyland Race Colours Handicap (1000m) at Sandown on April 26 and did plenty wrong when sixth in the PFD Food Services Handicap (1100m) at Caulfield on May 17, but she has returned to her best form in her past two starts.
The Artie Schiller mare was caught wide throughout when she beat Nautical to win the Dominant Handicap (1200m) at Moonee Valley on June 7 before scoring a dominant four lengths win in the All Victorian Handicap (1100m) at Flemington on June 28.
Sadler told TVN that Vain Queen had come out of her last start win in excellent condition and he is confident that she can make it three wins on the trot if she is able to replicate her performance from a fortnight ago.
“The aim of this prep has been to get black type and she’s getting closer to that now,” Sadler said.
“She’s fit, well and in good order.
“She doesn’t do a great deal between runs and I couldn’t be happier with her.
“Glen Boss is back aboard her and that’s a positive.
“He’s ridden her twice for two wins and if she runs like she did last start she’ll be very hard to beat.”
Vain Queen made her racing debut with a five and a half lengths victory in the Garden State Insurance Maiden (1100m) at Ballarat in April last year and she went on to take out the Long Tan Handicap (1000m) at Flemington on April 25 and the Trevor Clarke Handicap (1200m) at the same venue on May 18.
The four-year-old had just one race start during the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival, taking out a heat of the Sprint Series at Caulfield on August 31, but she was sent for a lengthy stint in the spelling paddock after racing greenly in the run.
Vain Queen is currently a dominant favourite in 2014 All Victorian Sprint Series Final betting markets at a quote of $1.80 from Le Bonsir ($7), Pillar Of Creation ($10), Shanghai Warrior ($10) and Corsica Lad ($11).
