Sadler Bullish About Lonrockstar In All Victorian Sprint Series Final

John Sadler has been thrilled with the winter preparation of Lonrockstar and the veteran is bullish about the chances of consistent gelding in the 2015 All Victorian Sprint Series Final at Flemington tomorrow.

Lonrockstar produced a string of consistent performances since he returned to racing with a second place finish in the City Jeep Wrangler Handicap (1000m) at Moonee Valley on March 9 before he returned to winning firm with a narrow victory over Nadeem Lass in the Takeover Target Tribute Handicap (1100m) at Flemington on June 27.

Sadler said that Lonrockstar has continued to train on coming out of his win in the Takeover Target Tribute Handicap and he is hopeful that the Lonhro gelding can score another win down the famous Flemington straight in the All Victorian Sprint Series Final.

“He has held his form really well this horse and his last three runs have been terrific,” Sadler told Racing Ahead.

“I am very pleased with him and his last three runs have been terrific.

“He has been able to win and his run before that was down the straight at Flemington also and he was extremely unlucky.

“The start before that was in Adelaide on that big day and he was in that sprint series and ran an unlucky third in that.

“He is racing extremely well and he has only had the two down the straight – one for an unlucky one and the win.

“He really likes the straight, but it is an open race.”

Lonrockstar came from the tail of the field when he took out the Takeover Target Tribute Handicap last start and he has generally been ridden as a backmarker throughout his racing career.

Sadler said that he has no plans to change the way that Lonrockstar is ridden in the All Victorian Sprint Series Final and he believes that Craig Williams knows exactly how he needs to ride the five-year-old.

“You won’t see anything different,” Sadler said.

“There have been a couple of races where we tried to ride him a touch closer and it took the finish off him.

“There is just one way to ride him and Craig, having ridden him on a couple of occasions, knows that.

“That is the way that he will be ridden tomorrow.”

Lonrockstar is currently available at 2015 All Victorian Sprint Series Final odds of $7.50 with Ladbrokes and he is on the fourth line of betting behind Hard Romp ($6.50), Decircles ($7) and Nearest To Pin ($7).
