Runsati beat Mahuta in a maiden at Seymour in September last year before he scored a win at Echuca, but he was sent for a break after he was only fair in two race starts at Seymour on October 18 and Bendigo on October 28.

The Churchill Downs gelding made his metropolitan racing debut in the Jeep Handicap (1000m) at Moonee Valley on January 2 and he was far too good for his rivals in the Browns Sawdust And Shavings Handicap (1000m) at Moonee Valley on January 23.

Trainer Bryan Maher believes that Runsati is more than deserving of an opportunity at Listed level in the WJ Adams Stakes and he is hopeful that the five-year-old will be able to deliver him the biggest victory of his training career to date.

“He has come back super,” Maher said.

“Every prep he has come back a little stronger and more seasoned and he is a real racehorse now.

“He is third-up and I think that he is cherry ripe fitness wise.

“He had a little gallop on Monday and he has pulled up really well.

“I can’t knock the horse and he hasn’t gone backwards.

“It is a Listed race, but he has beaten four or five horses in the nomination and I am confident he will be more than competitive.

“It will be like a dream come true, I never thought we would be in a Listed race at Caulfield with a little home bred in Euroa.”

Runsati will face 11 rivals in the WJ Adams Stakes and he will need to be at his vert best to upstage a number of talented horses.

Diamond Oasis, Reldas, Rough Justice, Bullpit and Shakespearean Lass have all recorded race wins this preparation and will go into the WJ Adams Stakes rock-hard fit, while talented mare Atmospherical is set to make her debut for new trainer Robert Smerdon.

Well Sprung took out the Listed McKenzie Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on August 22 and will contest the WJ Adams Stakes first-up along with Henwood.

Runsati is currently available at 2016 WJ Adams Stakes odds of $13, while Reldas ($4.60) is a narrow favourite from Atmospherical ($4.80), Diamond Oasis ($6), Bullpit ($8) and Rough Justice ($8.50).
