Hallowed Crown started his 2015 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival campaign with a tough win in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on February 21 and made a successful step-up to 1600 metres for the first time when he took out the Group 1 Royal Randwick Guineas (1600m) at Royal Randwick on March 7.

Bowman told Sky Racing Radio that Hallowed Crown is one of the best horses in Australia and he is confident that the step-up to 2000 metres will not prove a problem for the two-time Group 1 winner, who is currently available at 2015 Rosehill Guineas odds of $2.80.

“He just ticks all the boxes,” Bowman said.

“This is his eight run and he has won seven times.

“The only defeat he has had was at the hands of Brazen Beau and we saw what he did last week in the Newmarket.

“I am very excited about riding him and I am very excited about the 2000 metres for him.

“He is really on track.”

Bowman has a very strong book of rides at Rosehill Gardens tomorrow and he has been booked to ride Lucia Valentina in the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m).

Lucia Valentina produced a typically flat second-up performance in the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Warwick Farm on February 28 and she could finish no better than ninth, but Bowman believes that the Savabeel mare can return to her best form and take out the Ranvet Stakes.

“I know that Kris is very excited about her prospects and I think that the small field is definitely something in her favor, “Bowman said.

“If we go back 12 months what she did in the Vinery Stakes was just amazing and she went on to run particularly well in the Oaks.

“She came out in the spring and won at weight-for-age and Group 1 level and we were a little bit disappointed with her last start at Warwick Farm, the bottom line is that second-up she just doesn’t perform.

“She always seems to peak third-up and into fourth-up, so we are very excited about her and she is going to have the run of the race.”

Lucia Valentina is currently available at 2015 Ranvet Stakes odds of $6.50 with Ladbrokes, while Contributer ($2.50) remains a clear favourite from He’s Your Man ($4.80), Tosen Stardom ($4.80) and Silent Achiever ($5.50).
