Theshark.com.au Stakes, formerly known as the The Heath 1100m Stakes has only attracted a small field of eight and Rich Enuff should have no trouble bouncing straight to the front from the inside barrier draw.

Rich Enuff is a natural free running sprinter and trainer Ken Keys can see no reason for him not to continue to use those tactics for new jockey Dwayne Dunn.

“He has good gate speed and they’d have to be going pretty hard to cross him, if they do cross him they will be doing it with intent,” Keys told the Sportsman.

Rich Enuff was one of the stars of the 2014 Melbourne Sporing Carnival but had to miss the Autumn Carnival this year because of a hind leg flexor tendon injury but Keys has the Written Tycoon stallion fit and raring to go on Saturday.

As a three year old Rich Enuff was able to show his opposition a clean set of heels with wins in the Listed $120,000 Essendon Nissan McKenzie Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley, in the Group 2 $200,000 Danehill Stakes (1200m) at Flemington and in the Group 3 $175,000 BECK Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) at Caulfield.

But Rich Enuff was pipped on the post by the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Shooting To Win Group 1 $1m BECK Caulfield Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield on October 11.

Keys said that Rich Enuff has come through his two recent Cranbourne barrier trial wins in great shape and is looking forward to a great Spring campaign which will include a start in the Group 2 $200,000 Bobby Lewis Quality (1200m) at Flemington in a fortnight following by the Group 1 $400,000 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on September 26.

“We’ll regroup after the Rupert Clarke and decide whether to go on or pull up for the Autumn,” Keys said.

Theshark.com.au Stakes market order at Ladbrokes.com.au: $2.20 Rich Enuff, $3.90 Bounding, $6.50 Under The Lourve, $7 Miss Promiscuity, $11 Thermal Current, $12 Bull Point, $26 Richie’s Vibe, $31 The Bowler.
