Talented colt Rich Enuff has impressed trainer Ken Keys with his first serious piece of trackwork ahead of his 2015 Spring Racing Carnival campaign.

Rich Enuff missed out on the entire Autumn Racing Carnival after he injured his offside hind flexor tendon during trackwork, but he has now been back in work for almost seven weeks and did his first piece of serious trackwork in even time.
Keys believes that Rich Enuff has taken plenty of benefit out of his lengthy stint in the spelling paddock and he could not be happier with the physical condition of the rising four-year-old at this stage of his preparation.
“He is terrific and I couldn’t be any happier,” Keys told Racing Ahead.
“We did our first piece of work this morning in even time and he came off bouncing.
“He has done exceptionally well.
“A lot of our things in the autumn was that the turnaround from the spring was very quick and he didn’t have the chance to letdown properly, but he has now and he looks fabulous.”
Rich Enuff’s exact path during the 2015 Spring Racing Carnival is yet to be formulated, but Keys believes that 1400 metres is the ideal trip for Written Tycoon entire and he feels races like the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 29 and the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on September 26 could be the right races for the colt, but he admits that he is unsure whether his star galloper will be ready for the early Group 1 event.
“The owners were terrific and they thought he was a Group 1 horse, so he should be given every opportunity to win one,” Keys said.
“That meeting is yet to be had, but there is a belief that 1400 is our best distance and races like the Rupert Clarke Stakes and the Memsie, but I’m not sure we will be ready for that.
“There is that window at the moment and those are the sort of races.”
Rich Enuff was one of the star three-year-olds of the 2015 Spring Racing Carnival and he recorded dominant victories in the Listed McKenzie Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on August 23, the Group 2 Danehill Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on September 13 and the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) on September 28, but he suffered an upset victory at the hands of Shooting To Win in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) on October 11.
