Rich Enuff was one of the star performers of the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival, but he suffered a serious of niggling injuries in the lead-up to the Melbourne Festival Of Racing and Keys elected to send him back to the paddock.

The Written Tycoon entire returned to track work in May and Keys told Racing Ahead that the four-year-olds two recent performances in barrier trials at Cranbourne on August 10 and August 21 show that he is ready for his return to racing in The Heath 1100.

“I couldn’t be happier and know he has to live up to it on race day,” Keys said.

“It was nerve-wracking prior to his first trial, but once we saw that we were pretty confident.

“Unfortunately he doesn’t show us a lot in trackwork and to see it on trial pay was very pleasing.

“He came in at just under 600 kilos, held that weight right through until we started upping the ante at the trials and he will probably go to the races around the 580.

“He has sort of got taller with it and he looks more athletic.

“He looks good.

“We have got to try and have him pretty much there for every start and over 1100 metres I’m sure that he is fit enough and strong enough for that.

“He has been in work since May, so he has the miles under him.”

Damien Oliver was booked to ride Rich Enuff in The Heath 1100, but he will miss Memsie Stakes Day due to a suspension for careless riding that he received at Seymour last week.

Dwayne Dunn is now set to reunite with Rich Enuff for the first time since he steered him to victory in the Listed McKenzie Stakes (1200m) just over a year ago, but Keys expects Oliver to jump back aboard as the four-year-old gets further into his 2015 Spring Racing Carnival campaign.

“I have a great relationship with Dwayne,” Dunn said.

“The only reason that he wasn’t able to stay with the horse was because of his connections with the Hawkes stable which is fair enough and this will be a one-off for Dwayne because with the Hawkes connection that will be starting to bring their big boys to town soon and he will be riding the,.

“Hopefully Damien will be back and right by then.”

Rich Enuff will head to the Group 2 Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m) at Flemington on September 12 and will return to Group 1 level in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on September 26 before potentially taking on the big guns in the Group 1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on October 23 or the Group 1 Darley Classic (1200m) on November 8.
