The 2015 Ken Russell Memorial Classic odds of Regatta Rebel have continued to shorten in the past 24 hours and the Gai Waterhouse-trained galloper is set to start the race as a clear favourite.

Regatta Rebel opened at the short quote of $2.50 when the Ken Russell Memorial Classic field was released on Wednesday afternoon, but there has been consistent support for the Redoute’s Choice filly and she has been extremely well-backed to record a maiden race win this weekend.
The two-year-old made her first public appearance when she showed plenty of early speed in a barrier trial over 728 meters at Royal Randwick on December 1 and she proved that was no fluke when she produced another strong trial effort over 733 metres at Royal Randwick on March 16.
Regatta Rebel made her first appearance at the races in the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes (1100m) at Royal Randwick on April 6 and she fought home bravely in the final stages to finish a tough second behind the highly-rated Furnaces.
Another galloper that has been well-backed in Ken Russell Memorial Classic is Chris Munce-trained Wicked Intent, who has shortened from $8 into $6 in his return to racing.
Wicked Intent made his racing debut with an impressive victory in the Sequalo Legacy Plate (900m) at the Gold Coast on October 4 last year and he recorded two dominant four and a half-length victories in the Breakfast Creek Hotel Handicap (1050m) at Doomben on November 29 as well as the Listed Phelan Ready Quality (1050m) at the same venue on December 13.
The Wicked Style colt suffered his first race defeat when he was beaten as an odds-on favourite in the Group 3 B.J. McLachlan Stakes (1200m) at the Gold Coast on December 27 and he was far from disgraced when sixth in the Magic Millions Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on Janaury 10.
Another Ken Russell Memorial Classic runner that has been well well-backed is Team Snowden-trained Denpurr ($11 into $7.50), who beat the highly-rated Sempre Libera at Warwick Farm on March 19, while Golden Slipper scratching Look To The Stars is the only other runner available at single figure odds.
There has been a sprinkling of support in 2015 Ken Russell Memorial Classic betting markets for Like A Ruler ($101 into $81), Big Tree ($51 into $41), Madotti ($26 into $19) and Blueberry Hill ($14 into $10), while Montana Star ($21 out to $26), Redsson ($12 out to $19), Arrogant Boy ($71 out to $81), Valuchy ($26 out to $34) and Typing ($51 out to $61) have all been on the drift.
