Ready For Victory recorded just one win as a two-year-old, but he stamped himself as a leading contender for the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) when he finished fourth in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 21 despite racing erratically in the straight before he finished seventh in the Group 1 Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick on April 6.

The More Than Ready colt returned to the races in the Group 3 McNeil Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on August 29 and he finished a close second behind Gold Symphony, but he arguably should have won the race after having no luck in running whatsoever.

Ready For Victory was set to head to Sydney for the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on September 13, but owners Eliza Park International elected to keep him in Melbourne for the Group 2 Danehill Stakes (1200m) and he produced another credible effort to finish third behind Kinglike and Raphael’s Cat.

The three-year-old will step-up to 1400 metres for the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday before he returns to the highest level of racing in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) at the same venue a fortnight later.

Ready For Victory will need to perform at his very best in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude as a number of talented colts and geldings have been included in the nominations for the race.

Press Statement is currently on top of Caulfield Guineas betting markets and he has been included in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude nominations, but trainer Chris Waller revealed yesterday that the J.J. Atkins winner is set to remain in Sydney for the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens.

Waller will still be represented in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude as Ming Dynasty Quality winner Metallic Crown is set to make the trip to Sydney for the Group 3 event.

Spieth and Mr Individual both recorded impressive mid-week wins at Pakenham on Wednesday and they will have the chance to record a maiden stakes win in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude, while Bon Aurum will also take winning more into the race.

Other interesting horses in the 2015 Caulfield Guineas Prelude nominations include Dal Cielo, Lizard Island, Manhattan Blues, Odyssey Moon, Puritan, Tivaci, Stoker and Tulsa.
