Nash Rawiller is confident he can shake off a hip injury he sustained at today’s Randwick barrier trials and be fit to ride at Rosehill tomorrow.

Rawiller has seven rides on the eight card Rosehill meeting and is undergoing intense treatment to fulfil his engagements and keep the pressure on Hugh Bowman who he is chasing for premiership honours.
Rawiller is currently five and a half wins behind Bowman (71.5 wins) with four meetings left for the season and is desperate to peg back the lead especially with Bowman missing one of the remaining meetings because of a careless riding suspension.
Gai Waterhouse’s stable rider had a busy day ahead at the trials and had already scored a win on Melbourne Cup aspirant Fiorente in the first heat of the day before aggravating an old hip injury and being forced to stand down half way through the session.
“I’m not sure how serious it is, but he couldn’t ride the rest of ours this morning,” racing manager for the Waterhouse stable Bruce Slade said.
Racing New South Wales stewards have advised that Rawiller is undergoing physiotherapy treatment today and will have to be given the all clear by the club doctor at Rosehill tomorrow before being allowed to ride at the meeting.
The top jockey has done a remarkable job to get within striking distance of Bowman after being out of the saddle for two months over the summer after breaking his ankle in a barrier incident just before Christmas.
