Railway Stakes 2015: Durrant Thrilled With Real Love

Real Love has been well-backed in 2015 Railway Stakes betting markets and trainer Adam Durrant is delighted with the condition of the talented mare ahead of the Group 1 event at Ascot on Saturday.

Real Love stamped herself as one of the best stayers in Perth when she took out the Group 3 Queen’s Cup (2200m), Listed Western Australia St Leger Stakes (2100m) and Group 2 Perth Cup (2400m) during the 2014 Perth Summer Racing Carnival and she was not disgraced when she finished 11th in the Group 1 Orr Stakes (1400m) and eighth in the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes (1800m) during the 2015 Melbourne Festival Of Racing.

Durrant gave Real Love a lengthy stint in the spelling paddock and she stamped herself as a genuine Railway Stakes contender when she recorded a strong win in the Group 3 Asian Beau Stakes (1400m) at Ascot on October 31.

Real Love has an outstanding second-up record and Durrant told Sky Racing HQ that he deliberately gave the Desert King mare a three week break between runs in order to keep her a touch on the fresh side in the 2015 Railway Stakes.

“We have had no setbacks so far with her,” Durrant said.

“She has come through really well and it was always the plan the three weeks between runs from her first-up assignment.

“I thought she went excellent and she still had plenty of improvement left in her.

“Last preparation she did the same thing and second-up she won very impressively over a mile.

“We have followed the same recipe and hopefully we get the same result.

“I am more than happy to give them that time between runs because with our training methods they can cope with that really well.

“With her having really good staying capacity as she gets further into her preparation it will be nice for her to have a little bit of sprint and a little bit of freshness left in her legs.

“Her work has been winning work and she is exactly where I want her to be before a big race like this.”

Real Love is currently available at 2015 Railway Stakes odds of $5 with Ladbrokes and she is on the equal second line of betting with Black Heart Bart, while two-time Group 1 winner Delicacy is on top of betting at a quote of $4.20.
