The 2017 Victoria Handicap is a Group 3 race that takes place at Caulfield racecourse on Easter Saturday each year. Run over a distance of 1,400 metres, the Victoria Handicap is held as part of the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival. The Victoria Handicap is run under open handicap conditions and is worth a total of $150,000 in prize money.

The Victoria Handicap was first held in 1985 when it was won by a horse named Mendeara Etoile. The race is usually contested by horses that have run in races such as the Listed Moonee Valley Quality in Melbourne the month before. Those horses that run well in the Victoria Handicap will often go on to run in the Listed Anniversary Vase at Caulfield or the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes in Sydney.

The Victoria Handicap is held alongside the Group 3 Easter Cup and the Listed Galilee Series Final in Melbourne. It attracts mostly local gallopers, with much of the interstate talent attending the bigger race days in Sydney at this time of the autumn.
