Port Lincoln

Port Lincoln Racecourse is located on Boston Bay in South Australia, some 646 kilometres by road from Adelaide. Operated by the Port Lincoln Racing Club, Port Lincoln Racecourse is known for its quality racing.

The history of the Port Lincoln Racing Club dates back to the early 1920’s, when races were held by what was then the Port Lincoln and North Shields Racing Club at Coomunga. The Club then relocated their operation to today’s Port Lincoln Racecourse in 1946.

Port Lincoln Racecourse is well known for its Cup Carnival, which takes place in late February and early March each year. The Carnival’s main event is the Port Lincoln Cup, which is worth $40,000 in prize money. The race day attracts huge numbers year in and year out and remains one of the biggest events in Port Lincoln each year.

Port Lincoln Racecourse has a track circumference of 1,550 metres and a short final straight that is 280 metres long.

The Carlton & United Beverages Function Centre was opened at Port Lincoln Racecourse in February, 2005. The centre has allowed for Port Lincoln Racecourse to become one of the best venues for events such as conferences, weddings and conventions throughout the year.
