Victory Derby winner Prized Icon is set to resume in the 2017 Group 2 $400,000 Schweppes Hobartville Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

The James Cummings trained Prized Icon will be having his first start since winning the Group 1 $1.5m AAMI Victoria Derby (2500m) at Flemington during the 2016 Melbourne Spring Carnival.
Prized Icon has drawn barrier eight in the nine horse field and jockey Glyn Schofield will be aboard again in the Hobartville Stakes after riding him to victory in the Victoria Derby.
The James Cummings trained More Than Ready colt has been nominated for all the major races over the Autumn Carnival including the Group 1 $750,000 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington on March 4, the Group 1 $2m BMW Australian Derby (2400m) at Randwick on April 1 and the Group 1 $4m Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on April 8.
Leading Sydney trainer Chris Waller will saddle up two runners in the Hobartville Stakes, Veladero and Comin’ Through.
Both colts have had one run back from a spell with Veladero finishing fourth in a 1400m BenchMark 82 Handicap at Randwick on February 4 while Comin’ Through was one and a quarter lengths behind Man From Uncle when fifth in the Group 3 $150,000 Australian Chinese Jockey Club Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) at the same meeting.
Tim Clark takes over Hugh Bowman on Veladero who has drawn the rails while Michael Walker sticks with Comin’ Through who will jump from gate four.
Comin’ Through will clash again with the Anthony Cummings trained Man From Uncle who has drawn barrier seven with Jason Collett retaining the ride.
Trainer John O’Shea has put the blinkers on Bryneich and is looking for an improved performance after the Lonhro colt finished seventh as favourite in the Eskimo Prince Stakes.
Brenton Avdulla has retained the ride on Bryneich who has drawn barrier three in the Hobartville Stakes.
