Pride Of Dubai’s Sires Produce Stakes Odds Lengthen

The 2015 Sires Produce Stakes odds of Pride Of Dubai have lengthened in the past 24 hours, but co-trainer Paul Snowden is thrilled with the talented colt heading into the Group 1 event at Royal Randwick tomorrow.

Pride Of Dubai opened at a quote of $3.60 when the Sires Produce Stakes field was released on Tuesday, but there has been a gradual drift for the son of Street Cry and he is now out to $4.20 to record a second straight victory at Group 1 level.

Pride Of Dubai has not been seen at the races since he recorded a very impressive victory in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 28, but Snowden told Racing Ahead that he is confident that the two-year-old is heading into the 2015 Sires Produce Stakes in outstanding condition.

“We are very happy with him and I am really looking forward to it,” Snowden said.

“He has always been a good worker at home and Hughie (Bowman) had a great deal to do with him all the way through basically and he has a very high opinion of the horse and has had glowing reports in the last three weeks since we stepped his work up.

“He was very happy with the way that he trailed and extremely happy with the way that he felt on this morning.

“I think that our job is done and it is up to the horse to see if he is good enough.”

Pride Of Dubai has generally struggled to muster early speed in his three race starts to date and has been settled towards the tail of the field, but Snowden believes that jockey Hugh Bowman will be able to settle the juvenile closer in the Sires Produce Stakes.

Snowden said that he was thrilled to see Pride Of Dubai towards the middle of the Sires Produce Stakes field and he is confident that the two-year-old is capable of sitting just behind the leaders in the early stages of the $1 million race.

“We wanted to draw in the middle there and we have drawn six,” Snowden said.

“He doesn’t have to be pushed forward, he doesn’t have to drag back and he will just ride his own race.

“He could even posy up in the one, one, we are at 1400 metres now and it is not a fast-run Diamond where he is run off his feet early.

“Probably not a lot people realise that he was very fresh in his trial the other day and he basically could have led over a half a mile, so he is feeling well and I daresay he is probably not going to be too far out of his ground.”

Pride Of Dubai remains a narrow favourite in the Sires Produce Stakes betting market with Ladbrokes from English ($4.60), Ready For Victory ($4.80) and Pasadena Girl ($5.50).
