The top Sydney trainer has proclaimed her faith in the Lonhrocolt throughout his short career, despite doubts being voiced during his autumn campaign.

She was never concerned that All Too Hard would beat Pierro in their first clash at Randwick in the Sires’ Produce Stakes, nor is she worried this time around.

“I don’t think he is (vulnerable),” Waterhouse said.

“I think he’s an exceptional horse and he is only against his own age and he’s beaten them all before.”

Pierro will carry the top weight of 60 kilograms in The Run To The Rose this Saturday, whilst All Too Hard will carry 59 kilograms.

“He deserves the weight. He probably deserves more weight but that’s what he’s got,” Waterhouse conceded.

“It’s first-up and there’s always a slight chance (they’re vulnerable) but he’s a very happy horse going into it and he’s an exceptionally competitive animal.

“He had to tell me when he was ready and in this last few days he’s told me exactly that.”

Pierro has won all six of his previous race starts and has earned close to $3 million in prize money during his career.

The three-year-old completed the triple crown of two-year-old racing during the autumn, when he won the $3.5 million Golden Slipper, Group 1 Sires’ Produce Stakes, and Group 1 Champagne Stakes.

He will be looking to defy history with a win in The Run To The Rose, with only two of the six previous two-year-old greats going on to first-up spring success in their three-year-old season.

All Too Hard will be searching for his first spring victory in the race after placing third in the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes last start.

The Casino Price colt will be looking to turn the tables on Pierro and put an end his dominate winning streak.
