Ladbrokes ambassador and champion trainer Peter Moody with mic in hand did the rounds at Breakfast With The Best at Moonee Valley on Tuesday morning in the lead up to the Saturday’s Group 1 $3m Cox Plate (2040m).

Every trainer and jockey that Moody caught up with couldn’t see the short priced favourite and champion mare Winx failing to win back to back Cox Plates and the mighty mare’s rider Hugh Bowman gave punters a glowing report.

“Very happy Peter,” Bowman told Moody On The Mic.

“Didn’t do a whole lot this morning (Tuesday). More or less brought her out and stretched her legs.”

“But she was here on Saturday morning and worked in company. I liked what I felt.”

“The punters should go in with confidence.”

Godolphin’s Australian trainer John O’Shea saddles up the well performed Hartnell and Hauraki and while they are both last start Group 1 winners, he can see it will be a tough task to beat Winx who has won her last twelve starts, including eight Group 1s.

Moody also caught up with Winx’s part owner Peter Tighe, Hartnell’s jockey James McDonald, lightweight jockey Dean Yendall who rides the three year old filly Yankee Rose and Stephen Baster who rides one of the outsiders of the field Awesome Rock.
