Perfect Reflection not to contest W.A. Guineas

Prominent Perth owner Bob Peters was thrilled to see Perfect Reflection maintain her undefeated record with a near last to first win in the Group 3 $200,000 Skyy Vodka – W.A. Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m) at Ascot last Saturday.

“I’ve always liked her,” Peters said.

“She was my pick of our three-year-olds, so it is good to see her coming through.

“Over the years we have tried to win the Champion Fillies but this is the third time we’ve won it.

“Dreamaway (2011) and Delicacy (2014) did it before her and they were very good fillies.

“So I am hoping she can rise to what they did. She won’t run next week.”

The Peters’ owned Arcadia Dream chased home her stablemate Perfect Reflection in the Champion’s Fillies Stakes and is a good chance to back up in the W.A. Guineas.

“She could but she seems to find trouble every time she steps out,” Peters said.

Perfect Reflection has made a dramatic rise through the classes after only having her first race start in early September when she won a 1206m Pinjarra Maiden.

At her next race start the More Than Ready filly was victorious in a NMW 3yo Handicap over 1200m at Belmont on October 7 before winning the $100,000 Listed Crown Perth Belgravia Stakes (1200m) at Ascot on October 21.

Perfect Reflection is prepared by leading Perth trainer Grand Williams and was been ridden in all her four race starts by premiership leader William Pike.
