Peeping To Resume In Triscay Stakes

Trainer Ron Quinton has confirmed that Peeping will return to the races in the 2016 Triscay Stakes and he is hopeful that the talented mare will be able to go to another level during her autumn campaign.

Peeping has been a consistent performer since she made her racing debut with a narrow win at Hawkesbury in 2014 and she took out the Listed The Sebring (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 21 last year before she ran well without winning in the Group 3 PJ Bell Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on April 6 and the Group 3 Carr Stakes (1400m) at the same venue on April 18.

She started her 2015 Spring Racing Carnival preparation with a narrow win as a short-priced favourite in the Fairfield RSL Club Handicap (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens in August 15 and she failed to beat home a single runner in the Group 3 Sheraco Stakes (1200m) on September 12, but she returned to winning form with an upset victory over Catkins in the Group 2 Golden Pendant (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on September 26.

Peeping was sent to the spelling paddock following her flat effort in the Group 2 Angst Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick on October 10, but she showed that she was ready for a return to the races when she finished second in a barrier trial at Royal Randwick on January 29 and Quinton has been happy with everything that the four-year-old has done ahead of her return in the 2016 Triscay Stakes.

“This will be her first run back,” Quinton said.

“She has done particularly well in her last break and she has come back looking good.

“This is her kick-off and she appears to be in very good order.

“She has been a wonderful little mare already – she has won five out of 11 – and she is probably going to go to another level again.

“Hopefully she can because the competition will be stiff.”

Peeping will press on to the Group 2 Guy Walter Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick on February 28 following her return in the Triscay Stakes before she makes her Group 1 debut in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 12.

The Triscay Stakes field will be released tomorrow and Peeping is set to take on the likes of Slightly Sweet, Vergara, Sultry Feeling, In A Wink, Onemorezeta and Adorabeel.
