Paximadia will join Caulfield Guineas winner Long John and several other Peter Snowden trained horses who will be heading to Dubai and the Commands colt will be a tough competitor going on today’s tenacious win.

“I will probably get a phone call tonight. He deserves to go somewhere better because he is s better horse. He will make a name for himself over there,” Snowden said.

Snowden was able to maintain his good record in the Sandown Guineas after having won the racee with Tatra (2012), Kidnapped (2009) and Caymans (2008).

“It’s a great race, We targeted the right sort of horse and we thought all along this was the right level for this bloke. I’m sure he will get a lot further. Job done today and a great result,” Snowden said.

“It was a truly run race too. There was no loafing there. He was good late and well deserved.”

Nash Rawiller on the Gai Waterhouse trained Equator $4.80) with the blinkers on put the pressure on from the start, making it a truly run race.

Kerrin McEvoy was quick to assess the situation and didn’t let Equator get too far ahead and even though Rawiller pinched a break at the 300m, Paxiamdia ($3.40 favourite) was able to run him down to score by one a quarter lengths.

Apollo’s Choice ($4) was able to make up ground in the straight to finish in third spot.

Today’s  win was Paximadia’s fourth from eight starts and took his prizemoney earnings to over $500,000.
