Patinack Farm Classic Nominations Reveal Clash Of Sprinting Stars

43 horses have been nominated for the Patinack Farm Classic, including sprint queen Black Caviar

A total of 43 horses have been nominated to take on the might of Black Caviar in this year’s $1 million Patinack Farm Classicat Flemington on November 5.

Peter Snowden’s Sepoy and Anthony Cumming’s Smart Missile are amongst the horses that are willing to go head to head with the unbeaten superstar in what is expected to be her 16th career race start.

It what is likely to be one of the most watched clashes in Australia racing, the possibly unbeaten queen of racing will take on two of the upcoming super stars of the sport.

Two years her junior, Smart Missile and Sepoy both harness blistering speed and ability that is sure to make for a thrilling contest in the 1,200 metre race down the famous Flemington straight.

Black Caviar, as well as chasing a possible 16th straight win that will see her name etched even deeper in the history books, will be looking to be eligible for the $600,000 bonus on offer.

The bonus will be eligible to any horse who has won any race of the Global Sprint Challenge, of which the Patinack Farm Classic is the eighth leg, in the past six months or does so before July next year.

With Black Caviar likely to travel overseas next autumn the possibly of becoming eligible for the bonus is high.

The Godolphin-owned Delegator has also been nominated for a start in the weight-for-age race, while previously rumoured runner Society Rock did not feature.
