Pariah heads up nominations for C&G Blue Diamond Stakes Prelude

Sydney colt Pariah heads up the sixteen nominations for the Group 3 $200,000 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) for the colts and geldings at Caulfield on Saturday.

Pariah threw himself into contention for the Group 1 $1.5m Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 25 with a debut win in the Group 3 $150,000 Canonbury Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill on January 28.

The Peter and Paul Snowden trained Redoute’s Choice colt heads the market order for Saturday’s Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Prelude at $3 at Ladbrokes.com.au and a win will see him keep his spot at the top of the betting for the Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes where he currently sits at $7.

Trainer Robert Smerdon has nominated Property for the Blue Diamond Stakes Prelude and the Starcraft gelding will be one of the main chances after beating Azazel in the Listed $150,000 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Preview (C&G) (1000m) at Caulfield on January 26.

The Tony McEvoy trained Azazel will get his chance to reverse the results when he meets Property in the Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Prelude on Saturday.

Caulfield trainer Mick Price has three colts among the nominations, the unraced pair of Cutlass and Mighty Boss and Cao Cao who was runner up on debut to Aspect in the Group 3 $150,000 Maribyrnong Plate (1000m) at Flemington November 5 before winning a 1000m 2yo Plate at Moonee Valley on November 26.

The Lindsay Park Team has nominated Wait For No One and Will’s End while Team Hawkes also has two in the mix with Ducimus and Overshare.
