A number of the most talented horses in the country will do battle over 1400 metres in the P.B. Lawrence Stakes and there are plenty of potential stars in races like the Quezette Stakes, Vain Stakes and Regal Roller Stakes.

Race 1 (12:20pm) – $100,000 Pegasus Leisure Group Plate Results

Hell Or Highwater held-off Sea The Sparkle to record a tough victory in the Pegasus Leisure Group Plate at Caulfield this afternoon.

Sea The Sparkle loomed on the outside and looked as though she was going to go past Hell Or Highwater, but Chris Caserta pulled her off the canvas and she fought back in the concluding stages to win.

Co-trainer David Hayes was pleased with the win of Hell Or Highwater and confirmed that he will continue to target mares races with the tough galloper.

Race 2 (12:55pm) – $100,000 Legacy 2017 Badge Appeal Handicap Results

Sullivan Bay led from start to finish to return to winning form in the Legacy 2017 Badge Appeal Handicap at Caulfield this afternoon.

Sullivan Bay had excuses when she was beaten at Caulfield on July 29, but she always looked set to get a soft run in front and she took advantage to claim the ninth win of her racing career.

Lyuba found the line nicely for second in a pleasing return to the races and Petite’s Reward rounded out the placings in third.

Race 3 (1:30pm) – $60,000 Beveridge Williams Plate Results

Quilista made his Victorian racing debut with an impressive win in the Beveridge Williams Plate at Caulfield this afternoon.

Darren Weir has had plenty of success with horses acquired from Perth and that continued with Qulista.

Theanswermyfriend hit the line strongly and is another horse that looks set for a big Spring campaign.

Race 4 (2:05pm) – $100,000 Ramlegh Springs On Clyde Handicap Results

Rhythm To Spare finished over the top of his rivals to win an entertaining edition of the Ramlegh Springs On Clyde Handicap at Caulfield this afternoon.

Jacquinot Bay, Moonovermanhattan and Foundry were all winning chances at the 50 metre mark, but Brandon Stockdale timed his run to perfection on Rhythm To Spare to claim victory.

The win of Rhythm To Spare was his second on the trot following his impressive victory over Amovatio at Flemington a fortnight ago.

Race 5 (2:40pm) – $150,000 Group 3 Quezette Stakes Results

Crown Witness upstaged Catchy to record an upset win in the 2017 Quezette Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

Crown Witness had the fitness edge over the majority of her rivals in the Quezette Stakes and was easily the best-backed runner in the lead-up to the Group 3 event.

Catchy dove at Crown Witness late and looked as though she would grab her rival in the shadows of the post, but Crown Witness held-on to record a gallant win.

Race 6 (3:20pm) – $150,000 Group 3 Vain Stakes Results

Jukebox savaged the line in the final 100 metres to maintain his unbeaten record in the 2017 Vain Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon

Plutocracy kicked clear at the top of the straight and looked as though he had the race won, but Jukebox kept on finding the line and he got his nose in front at the right time to make it three wins from as many starts.

Jukebox won his first two starts as a two-year-old before he was controversially scratched from the Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes after showing signs of lameness.

Race 7 (4:00pm) – $200,000 Group 2 P.B. Lawrence Stakes Results

Dodging Hartnell proved to be a winning play for Hartnell as he recorded an impressive victory in the 2017 P.B. Lawrence Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

Charmed Harmony took up the running in the early stages of the P.B. Lawrence Stakes and Hartnell was able to get a lovely trail into the race.

Craig Williams asked Hartnell for an extra effort at the top of the straight and he got past Charmed Harmony at the 100 metre mark before he raced away from the rest of the field.

Race 8 (4:40pm) – $120,000 Listed Regal Roller Stakes Results

Vega Magic held-off a flying Brave Smash to take out the 2017 Regal Roller Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

Vega Magic looked as though he had the Regal Roller Stakes shot to bits when he hit the front at the 200 metre mark, but he was challenged late by Japanese galloper Brave Smash.

Brave Smash looked to die on his run at the 50 metre mark and Vega Magic was able to give the Lindsay Park team yet another feature race win.

  • 3rd – Santa Ana Lane

Race 9 (5:15pm) – $100,000 Thebigscreencompany.com.au Handicap Results

Here To There snuck up on the inside to record a narrow win in the 2017 Thebigscreencompany.com.au Handicap at Caulfield this afternoon.

There were plenty of winning chances in the final stages of the race and you could have been forgiven for missing the run of Here To There right on the rail.

The Darren Weir-trained duo of Ozi Choice and Tahanee were only narrowly denied, while By The Grace was also in the finish.
