Miss Rose De Lago came up with barrier fifteen in the original drew off fourteen plus one emergency for the Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes and will jump the outside gate when the field is reduced to the safety limit of fourteen on race morning.

Oliver teamed up with the Danny O’Brien trained mare last start when she raced off the pace to score a first up win in the Group 2 $200,000 Back To Caulfield P.B. Lawrence Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 13.

Oliver might have to push forward on Miss Rose De Lago from the wide gate and the mare has won from the front before, including an all the way win over the same course and distance as the Dato‘ Tan Chin Nam Stakes three starts back in the Group 2 $200,000 Sunline Stakes with James McDonald in the saddle.

Miss Rose De Lago galloped at Moonee Valley on Tuesday morning and O’Brien was happy with her work.

“She has been here a couple of times to gallop before races, and always enjoys it here,” O’Brien said.

“Her last run here was over a mile, where she was very good winning the Sunline Stakes, so she certainly doesn’t mind coming to Moonee Valley.”

“The three weeks has been perfect, it was a pretty tough run first-up.”

“She’ll improve coming into Saturday and 1600m second up is perfect.”

The front running The Cleaner has drawn barrier eleven with Steven Arnold in the saddle and Miss Rose De Lago will be able to follow him across in the early stages of the race.

The Darren Weir trained Mahuta is another who will have to overcome a wide gate after drawing fourteen in the original barrier drew.

Mahuta is one of four runners from the all conquering Weir stable and will be up against stablemates Tosen Stardom (barrier 5), Signoff (1) and Real Love (7).

Mahuta has been placed twice from three runs this campaign and is coming off a last start third to Black Heart Bart in the Group 1 $500,000 New Zealand Bloodstock Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield last Saturday.

Australian Derby winner Tavago is set to make a belated start to the Spring Carnival after being scratched last week from the Memsie Stakes after losing a tooth on race eve.

The Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young trained Tavago has Ben Melham in the saddle and has drawn nicely at six.

Trainer Ciaron Maher will saddle up Set Square (Luke Nolen, barrier 9) and Jameka (Craig Williams, barrier 13) and Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott have Excess Knowledge, barrier four, kicking off his Melbourne Cup campaign.

The United States is also set to resume from barrier eight with Katelyn Mallyon and will be having his first run back since finishing second to Lucia Valentina Group 1 $4m Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on April 9.
