Ofcourseican Win… Now That Beaded Is Out

Trainer Ron Quinton is rejoicing over the withdrawal of Peter Snowden’s Beaded from this Saturday’s Listed Nivison Stakes at Randwick.

“She (Beaded) just looked so well placed at the set weights and penalties,” Quinton said.

“So that makes it a bit more even now with her not in it.”

Beaded was due to make her spring debut this weekend, however, her trainer decided to wait until later in the carnival.

The Lonhro mare was originally due to be retired following her outstanding winter campaign in Brisbane earlier this year before owner Sheik Mohammed instead opted to race the six-year-old for another season.

Quinton is now confident that his mare Ofcourseican can win the $100,000 race.

Ofcourseican has finished third both the Listed Sheraco Stakes and the Group 3 Golden Pendant this spring and Quinton is confident she can snare a win this Saturday.

The five-year-old experienced success during the autumn carnival in Sydney where she won two of her five races starts and finished no worse than fifth throughout the preparation.

“I’m very happy with her going into this race, she’s done well,” Quinton said.

Ofcourseican has won six of her 22 race starts and has accumulated close to $300,000 in prize money.
