Promising two-year-old Single In Paris will have his first race start at Warwick Farm this Saturday.

Single In Paris will contest the 2YO Plate over 1,000 metres as preparation for the Inglis Classic two weeks later.

The $250,000 Inglis Classic will run at Rosehill on January 21.

Trainer Matt Dale feels this Saturday’s run is vital in preparing the juvenile for his Inglis Classic start.

“We’re trying to get him ready for that big race and that will require him having a run beforehand,” Dale said.

“There is a lack of two-year-old races around the district at the moment, but he needs to have a run before we run him in the Inglis Classic.”

Single In Paris is one of many potential success stories for Dale that have come from impressive sire Not A Single Doubt.

Dale’s other runners by his stallion include Jackpot Queen and Unanimously.

“I’ve just had a great run of success with them,” the trainer said.

“Pretty much all of them have shown city class ability.”

While not trained by Dale, last year’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Karuta Queen is also by Not A Single Doubt.

Single In Paris had his first trial at Canberra on December 30, where he finished second by a length over 900 metres.

Dale expects big things from the young gelding after hand picking him at the 2011 sales.

“He was one that I earmarked at the sales last year,” he said.

“I selected him out at the Inglis Classic sales and found a couple of owners to purchase him.

“He looks a good racing type and obviously I’ve had good success with the breed so he ticked all the boxes for me.

“This is the next one to come along from the stallion and he’s a nice horse in the making.”
