Dissident opened as a clear favourite in Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes betting markets at a quote of $5, after taking out both the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) and Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m), but has been one of the biggest drifters in betting and is now out to $7.
Sweet Idea has been the market mover since betting opened after the barrier draw was conducted yesterday and the daughter of Snitzel has received plenty of support to break through for a maiden victory at Group 1 level.
Gai Waterhouse has been thrilled with Sweet Idea this preparation and the leading Sydney trainer said that she happy with the four-year-olds effort in trackwork at Moonee Valley earlier in the week.

“She just took herself into the gallop very relaxed.
“She worked terrific, she is all professionalism, knows exactly what she is going to do and didn’t waste a penny.
“She keeps it all for raceday.
“She won’t be looking around on race day, she will just be looking towards the winning post.
“She ran very good time and she is just a true professional.”
Cluster recorded his maiden win at Group level when he worked home strongly to take out the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on September 13 and he has been well backed to take out the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.
The Fastnet Rock entire drew poorly in barrier fourteen yesterday morning, but punters are confident that the four-year-old can overcome the wide draw and he has been backed into Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes odds of $7.50.
Trust In A Gust will be making his Group 1 debut in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes and he has been backed into a quote of $8, while A Time For Julia ($8.50) and Bull Point ($9) are the other horses in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes field that available at single figure odds in betting.
Bull Point was beaten by Cluster in the Theo Marks Stakes, but trainer Chris Waller is confident that the son of Fastnet Rock can turn-the-tables in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes this weekend.
“He is going very well and he worked a treat on Saturday and Tuesday morning,” Waller said.
“He worked an absolute treat left handed, that is the Melbourne way, and he has an awkward gate in barrier ten, but I think that he will be hard to beat.”
There has been a sprinkling of support for Speediness ($10), Alma’s Fury ($61), Sistine Demon ($10) and Akavoroun ($18) in the past 24 hours, while outside of Dissident the biggest drifters have been Atlante ($13) and Gig ($51).
