The Group 2 $175,000 Villiers Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on December 13 could be in the pipeline for You’ll Never if the five year old runs up to expectation at Rosehill on Saturday.

You’ll Never is one of seven runners Sydney’s champion trainer Chris Waller has nominated for the $85,000 BenchMark 95 Handicap (1400m) and a good performance will see him join stablemates I’m Imposing, Strawberry Boy and Multilateral in the Randwick Summer Carnival feature ‘mile’.

I’m Imposing won last Saturday’s Listed $100,000 Festival Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill while Strawberry Boy finished third and Multilateral sixth and all three will are headed to the Villiers Stakes on Saturday week.

But Waller decided to run You’ll Never this week then go into the Villiers Stakes on a seven day back which he says will suit the Commands gelding.

“He’s a good horse when backing up, which is why we’ve held him back,’’ Waller said told The Daily Telegraph.

“He’ll have to win and win well to push on to the Villiers.

“I think he’s a really good horse, but my terminology of a good horse is one who races consistently and does a good job for their owners. He’s far from a Group 1 horse, but he’s certainly up to winning a Listed or Group race.’’

While I’m Imposing, Strawberry Boy and You’ll Never will be genuine chances in the Villiers Stakes, middle distance performer Multilateral is not without a chance but will need the run over the 1600m as he heads towards the Group 3 $125,000 Summer Cup (2000m) at Randwick on December 26.

“He needs to run in the Villiers if he’s to be competitive in the Summer Cup a fortnight later, but a good strong mile at Randwick might see him have a chance’’.

Waller, who has already cleared out with a commanding lead in in the Sydney trainer’s premiership, will have another busy weekend with sixteen horses nominated for Rosehill, four nominated for Sandown and Moriarty is running in the Group 1 $500,000 TAB Touch – Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot trying to give Waller his eighth Group 1 winner for the current season.
