Kent will be instructing Brad Rawiller to go forward from barrier eighteen and take up a handy position near or in the lead making sure it is a true staying test.

“We’ll have to go forward from there,” Kent said.

“He’s been in work for a little while but he stays well and is in good form, I don’t think he’s too badly handicapped with the high minimum. I’m hopeful, but the barrier is bit awkward.”

On pace runner Tuscan Fire has also drawn out wide and if Glen Boss employs his usual tactics, the pair could cross over the front of the field in the early stages.

The Pat Carey trained Dame Claire, from barrier seven will also have the opportunity to set the pace after sharing the lead with Tuscan Fire when overhauled by Adelaide Cup fancy Kutchinsky in the Listed $120,000 Roy Higgins Quality (2600m) at Flemington on March 2.

Tusacn Fire with Boss aboard is a slight favourite at $5.25 over Kutchinsky at $5.50 with You Think So the next in the betting at $8.

Macedonian from the Peter Moody stable is a $9 chance after finishing third to Tuscan Fire in the Listed $350,000 Mornington Cup (2400m) at Mornington on February 13 while the best local hope My Ex Mate is at $12 after winning the Group 3 $115,000 Boag’s Lord Reims Stakes (2600m) at Morphettville ten days ago.
