Clear punters’ pick Chloe In Paris has justified her favouritism at Flemington this afternoon; leading from start to finish to comfortably take out the Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap (1000m) down the famous straight.

Jumping from the gates well, in-form jockey Craig Williams took up the pace with the daughter of Exceed And Excel; setting a quick tempo away from the barriers.

Continuing to ‘up’ the tempo and press forward, Chloe In Paris charged clear of the main pack over the final 200m; hitting the line more than two lengths in the clear of closest rivals Peron and Flamberge.

Williams secured a card treble in partnering Chloe In Paris to success in the 2015 Boy Hoysted Handicap; crediting the training efforts of Ciaron Maher and the four-year-old’s pedigree in the success.

“She was brilliant from the gates and she got there,” Williams said after crossing the line.

“Ciaron Maher was very bullish and very confident about his horse, but he did say there specialty about her is the certain way she likes to race and I was able to utilize that today.

“She delivered and you can see that’s a step-up to Listed grade; she’s always been a high-quality filly now she’s turned into a Stakes winning mare.”

“I used to ride her mother. Ciaron Maher’s done a great job with the way she’s come up for three from three this preparation.”

Maher was pleased with Chloe In Paris’ performance in the 2015 Bob Hoysted Handicap, and revealed a race like the Group 1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley may figure as her next major target.

“It was great to get a black type win with her, she’s always shown really good potential,” Maher said.

“It’s taken her a little while to get there but she’s starting to get it together now.

“It was a real test today and she was probably a little worse off at the weights but black types a big thing for her.

“It’s a stepping stone for her so hopefully she can go on. We’ve nommed her for the T.J. in Sydney and races like that, but it’s one step at a time.

“There’s the William Reid and it opens up quite a bit now because he rating was quite low. She’s got a few options.”

Nominations for the 2015 William Reid Stakes are due to be taken by March 23rd, while a final field and barrier draw will be completed and released on the 25th.
