Trainer James Cummings has opted to run Good Standing against his own age in the Group 3 $200,000 Blacktown Workers Club Hawkesbury Guineas (1400m) at Hawkesbury on Saturday.

Josh Parr takes the mount on Good Stranding who has drawn wide at gate thirteen in the fourteen horse Hawkesbury Guineas field and is rated a $7 chance at Ladbrokes.com.au.

The Bjorn Baker trained Music Magnate remains at the top of the market for the Victory Stakes at $2.25 just ahead of the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes winner Takedown at $3.30.

Music Magnate has had a freshen up since being a well beaten twelfth to Russian Revolution in the Group 1 $700,000 Nathan’s Famous Hotdogs Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on March 18 but has shown that he is back on track with a six lengths barrier trial win at Warwick Farm on April 21.

Following his win in the Group 1 $1m Crown Perth-Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) at Ascot during the Perth Summer Carnival, Takedown travelled to Hong Kong for a sixth to Aerovelocity in the Group 1 HK$18.5m Longines Hong Kong Sprint 1200m at Sha Tin on December 11.

Takedown then had one run during the Sydney Autumn Carnival for an eighth to Redzel in the Group 3 $150,000 Hall Mark Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on April 15.

On the third line of betting for the Victory Stakes at $5.50 are the well supported Hopfgarten and Tumbler.

The Eagle Farm track on Friday morning has been rated a Soft 7 for the Victory Stakes meeting on Saturday.
