Fill The Page will be chasing her first win for new trainer David Vandyke when she runs at Rosehill Racecourse this weekend.

The five-year-old will run in the $85,000 Rosehill Gardens Handicap over 1,400 metres, which will take place as the final race of the day.

Fill The Page will be looking to boost her ratings in time for the upcoming spring racing carnival with a win this Saturday.

Vandyke has previously trained a horse for Fill The Page’s owner with big results.

“Ian Smith has purchased her and sent her to me because I trained Miss Marx for him,” Vandyke told AAP.

“I won a stakes race with Miss Marx and Ian simply said `do it again’ when he sent Fill The Page to me.”

Fill The Page has won four of her 23 race starts to date and has earned more than $233,000 in prize money during her horse racing career.

The Dane Shadow mare’s best performance to date came in the Listed Canberra Cup, which she won by a head in March last year.

Her most recent result was a 13th in the $85,000 Parramatta Catholic Care Handicap at Rosehill on June 1.

She will now look to begin her new preparation on a high when she tackles Rosehill this weekend.

Her early spring campaign will decide whether Fill The Page continues racing for another season, or begins her broodmare career this year.

“Depending on what she can do she may or may not go to stud this year,” Vandyke said.

“She is a well-performed mare and we’ll study all the races and then decide which one she runs in.”

Fill The Page was originally nominated for the Listed Winter Challenge, which is also scheduled to run in Sydney on the same day.

Vandyke will now rely on Less Is More to bring home the prize in the $100,000 race.

Less Is More will also be first-up in Saturday’s race and will be looking to add to his record of four previous race wins.

The French import has produced mixed results since arriving in Australia late last year.
